THE ADVANCE
Leadership Conference

INSPIRE. IDENTIFY. IMPACT.

April 1, 2, and 3, 2008

Every hallway, lunch line, and classroom of every school in America can use great leaders standing up for good character.

This year nearly 50 high school students from around the Twin Cities metro area did spring break YF style by participating in THE ADVANCE leadership conference on April 1, 2, and 3. THE ADVANCE leadership conference, organized and delivered by the Youth Frontiers Apprentices (young adults being mentored as future retreat staff at YF), was three days of leadership-building activities that offered students a chance to make the most of their spring break by identifying how they can make their school and community a better place. The 9-12th graders participated in a service-learning project, team-building activities, and a variety of discussions on the topic of leadership. Next year, YF hopes to continue to build the YF Apprentice program, including delivering year two of THE ADVANCE next spring.
