In February, Youth Frontiers will bring together students from around the Midwest for a Virtual Character Academy Conference on confidence. During this interactive program, participants will learn about the importance of using their voices to make the world better. Through an exploration of resilience, participants will gain practical strategies to combat nerves and summon a sense of power. They will leave the conference ready to practice more confidence and ultimately make a positive difference in their schools and broader communities.
ACTIVITIES
Participants engage in community-building activities designed to break down social barriers and help them forge new connections with students from different schools.
PRESENTATION
Through multimedia storytelling, live music and interactive content, our staff explains the key features of confidence and shares practical tools for building resilience through confidence-based behavior.
SMALL GROUPS
Students meet in small groups to learn from each other, deepen their understanding of confidence and identify opportunities to practice this character skill.
ACTIONABLE TAKEAWAYS
Students will leave the conference having identified one way they will cultivate more confidence in their life moving forward.
SHARING
At the end of the conference, students have a chance to share their confidence commitments with the large group for affirmation and accountability.
“I am more of an introvert which some would think is incompatible to be a leader, but Character Academy challenged me to get out of my comfort zone and do things that others, including myself, wouldn't see me doing.”
