On Wednesday, March 6, 2024, Youth Frontiers will bring together students from around the Twin Cities for a Character Academy Conference on gratitude. During this interactive program, participants will get to connect with their peers, learn from the wisdom of adult women mentors, and realize the importance of gratitude in life and leadership. Participants will learn strategies for cultivating a personal gratitude practice, which can help them bolster resilience to stress and flourish at school, work and beyond. They will leave the conference ready to carry that spirit of gratitude forward and light the way with their leadership in their schools and broader communities.
ACTIVITIES
Participants engage in community-building activities designed to break down social barriers and help them forge new connections with students from different schools.
PRESENTATION
Through storytelling, live music and interactive content, our staff explains the key features of gratitude and shares practical tools for building resilience and growing one’s leadership.
SMALL GROUPS
Students meet in small groups to learn from each other and volunteer women leaders. Through guided conversation, they deepen their understanding of gratitude and identify opportunities to practice this character skill.
ACTIONABLE TAKEAWAYS
Students will leave the conference having identified one way they will cultivate more gratitude in their lives moving forward.
SHARING
At the end of the conference, students have a chance to share their gratitude commitments with the large group for affirmation and accountability.
