Character Angle Conversation – Head-On Humility

It’s a difficult time to be a leader.

You strive to lead with character and move your organization forward, but each stakeholder has a different — and often loud — opinion about what that means. Whatever choice you make, someone is angry.

How do you stay in relationship with those who oppose your point of view? How do you maintain humility in an age of hubris and high emotion?

How do you lead amid the rage?

Leadership Frontiers’ Character Angle Conversations explore how leaders navigate the tension between “ideal” and “real.” In this first one-hour session, our two panelists will share how they are succeeding (and sometimes failing) at cultivating humility and connection in their workplaces and communities. Lively Q&A and intimate small-group discussion will allow participants to share practical tips and encouragement with each other.

About Leadership Frontiers

The character of our leaders is one of the most powerful influences on our homes, workplaces and communities. Leadership Frontiers exists to inspire, develop, connect and encourage character-driven leaders grounded in three values: presence, humility and courage. Each of these values, and the tension between them, draws out the best in our leaders and, in turn, our communities.

Since its launch in 2019, Leadership Frontiers has reached hundreds of leaders across the globe. Our flagship program Geometry of a Leader: A Retreat for Character-Driven Leaders is a first-of-its-kind offering designed to support leaders who are called to this most difficult, but important, role.

Leadership Frontiers is a division of Youth Frontiers, a nationally-recognized nonprofit whose mission is to inspire character, civility and community. For more than 30 years, Youth Frontiers has offered groundbreaking retreats and other dynamic experiences for youth, educators and the broader community.
