The Youth Frontiers Character Award is a scholarship that recognizes junior and senior students of outstanding character who are changing their schools for the better.
We honor and celebrate each year’s winner at their local Youth Frontiers community event.

Orono High School, Minn.
As a founding member of Student Voice and former English Language Learner, Dani has tirelessly worked to ensure everyone has the chance to be heard, and in doing so, found his own voice.
Skutt Catholic High School, Neb.
Selena leads by example, reaching out to those who are lonely and exuding love and acceptance in all she does. Because of that, she does all that she can to be of help to everyone.
Carmen High School of Science & Technology, Wis.
Vivica received the Character Award for her mentorship and outspoken student advocacy, particularly for women of color in the STEM field.
We honor an outstanding student of character in each of our three major markets, Minnesota, Nebraska and Wisconsin. Once a year, we celebrate them at one of our major events in each state.
• Be in 11th or 12th grade
• Attended a Youth Frontiers retreat as a participant and/or small-group leader
• Shows consistent character in their decision-making and interactions with others
• Goes above and beyond to positively affect their school community.
• The nominating educator and the student selected for the award must be able to be filmed for our event video
• Parents/guardians must give permission for the student to be included in a press release, event videos and other Youth Frontiers marketing materials
The nominating educator and selected student must be available to attend our Ethical Leadership Luncheon in December at the Marriott City Center Hotel in Minneapolis. The student’s parents/guardians are also welcome to attend.
