2024 YF Leadership Luncheon

Join Youth Frontiers for a dynamic discussion about character-driven leadership and the future of our community.
The ancient Greek philosopher Heraclitus once said, “Character is destiny.” With our future as unpredictable — and our societal challenges as complex — as ever before, the leaders best equipped to bring about courageous and lasting change won’t just be driven. They’ll be character-driven.

On Tuesday, May 21, 2024 Youth Frontiers (YF) will host an essential conversation about character-driven leadership and the future of our community — and we want you around the table. Join us for  a lunch with Shari Ballard, CEO of Minnesota United FC, where we’ll learn more about how she leads by using the game of soccer as a force for positive change, collaborating to build a winning organization and continuing efforts to serve the community using the four guiding pillars of the club.

Over a shared meal with a room full of local leaders, we’ll celebrate the power of bringing voices together to speak the common language of character and explore the powerful, yet often overlooked idea that who you are is just as important as what you lead — especially in challenging times.

Do not miss our illuminating conversation with this character-driven leader and her insight on what it will take for us to create companies and communities that are more united.

Please contact Riley Moynihan at rmoynihan@youthfrontiers.org if you would like information about sponsoring this event. Proceeds will help to fund YF’s character development work with 60,000 youth and adults this programmatic year.

Shari Ballard

CEO of Minnesota United FC

This year, we are honored to welcome Shari Ballard as our featured YFLL speaker. As a long-time Twin Cities resident and current CEO of Minnesota United FC, Shari is one of our community’s character-driven leaders. Before joining MNUFC, she was a former Best Buy executive with more than 25 years of experience, growing from an assistant store manager to the president of multichannel retail at Best Buy Co. Inc.

Shari has shared her excitement about working for Minnesota United, a team rooted in its community and explicit in its core values: resilience, inclusivity, dedication, passion, teamwork and respect. She is also active in her board of directors roles with Ecolab, Inc., PetSmart, and Allina Health, and also serves on the board of trustees for the University of Minnesota Foundation. She was named one of Fortune Magazine’s “Fifty Most Powerful Women in Business” four times (2011, 2015, 2016, 2017).
